#708 Rawlins to Jackson

Day three dawned and we are on our way to Jackson, WY and Grand Teton National Park. This was the first park on our quest to see National Parks. We had never been there and our friends asked us about them. So off we went.

The terrain was quite interesting as we traveled North. The geological formations are quite ruggedly beautiful:

Then we got to the higher elevations and the snow. Fortunately, the roads were clear even though the weather looked ominous:

This was our first glimpse of wildlife which is abundant in the parks.

I love Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I went to the cowboy bar and sat on one of the saddles they have for bar stools. Way cool place.

Some great countryside to visit for sure. It is indeed breathtakingly beautiful in a rugged sort or way.

Have a terrific day. :)

Nice trip you had! And nice pictures :)
I thoroughly enjoy looking at your pictures.
It was too many years ago, around this time, that I was in that area, visiting Jackson Hole, Teton, and Yellowstone. Reading your trip now sent me back searching for my own memories. It's all lovely.

You have me wanting to go and visit there again. I think I was 14 years old and we had step siblings with us. It wasn't an enjoyable trip. We all got yelled at a LOT!
