#828 Tulips & Windmills-April 21

This tour was  titled the Tulips and Windmills cruise. It wasn't until the last day that we got to see Tulips in abundance. The Keukenhof Gardens were spectacular. Our timing could not have been better. The weather and the tulips cooperated. Well, you can see for yourself. On our cruise from Rotterdam to Amsterdam we also saw more windmills.

And that, folks, is the sum and substance of our Viking River Cruises Tulips and Windmills cruise. We could not have planned it any better. The accommodations and service were outstanding. We would recommend it to others.

#827 Tulips & Windmills-April 20

We traveled by bus to tour the town of Miggleburg. One of the interesting sights was the doors. The family name was usually painted in cursive on the front door.

The morning was bright and calm which gave the canal a serene look. The reflections were perfect too.

The Delta Works keep the North Sea from inundating the countryside. It is quite an engineering accomplishment.

#826 Tulips & Windmills-April 19

The city of Brugge is quite lovely. We had visited it with friends several years ago. Somehow it seemed different this time. Perhaps it was because of the time we spent then as compared to the time we had this visit. It is a beautiful city with great architecture.

There are numerous options to take a canal tour of the city.  It does give one a different perspective.

Belgian waffles are almost as good as Belgian chocolate. I particularly liked my waffle with chocolate sauce.
