#149 As Seen Through the Windshield #2

We got a later start leaving Cheyenne. We did wake up early, but, then, we went to sleep much earlier than usual. It is amazing how tired you can get sitting and/or driving. We got a later start leaving Cheyenne. We did wake up early, but, we went to sleep much earlier than usual. Dawn came bright, clear, and a wee bit nippy-cool. Thank goodness we brought jackets and sweaters. This photo was taken from our room window.

At a rest stop between Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyoming

Along I-80 in Southern Wyoming.

Along I-80 in Southern Wyoming.

Along I-84 in Southern Idaho.

We are marveling at the sights we are seeing along the way. I was unable to get more photos because we were traveling with a specific schedule and daily destination.

Wyoming is big on raising cattle. There were many herds along the road. One thing I wished I could have gotten a photo of was the many antelope that are in the same fields as the cattle. They don't congregate together, but are near one another. It is a fascinating sight. We also have antelope in Kansas. They are trying to re-populate the Flint Hills with these animals that used to roam freely until the Westward migration of the White man. Everyone understands how eco-friendly many White men are. (That was a sarcastic comment.)

Tomorrow we will make it to Portland, OR, where will spend a couple of days with our youngest daughter and her husband. Then we will be off to Seattle to pick up friends at the airport, have lunch with other friends then motor on toward Vancouver, BC. I do believe we have scheduled a stop at a winery on the way.

You had better stop having early nights Jack, they make you repeat yourself.
