#607 The Mystery Has Been Solved

Meet Gnorman the Gnome. (The G is pronounced as a hard G.) He is our mystery guest.

Apparently, someone whose name will not be revealed here, convinced someone close to Maryann and me to help Gnorman find some new digs. (I suspect an un-named Portland REALTOR® was the one who colluded with Gnorman for assistance in escaping the Portland area. Without further evidence I shall make no accusations. She knows who she is. snerx.)

Unbeknown to us this person of mystery hatched a devious plot wherein the keys to our van were purloined, temporarily, and Gnorman was placed in a box in the van. It wasn't until we got home and were unloading that we discovered him stowed away in a box we used to take things to our daughters. You saw how he took his time to case the place before he found a suitable position from which he could work his gnomish magic on the premises.

We are sure that his intentions and those of the folks who hid him away are quite pure. They love a mystery as much as we do. They knew where I usually kept the van keys. I hate to carry them around in my pocket when I am not driving anywhere.

The following is part of Gnorman's story in his own words.

"This looks like a likely spot to observe the premises and work my special magic. During my brief look around I saw that there was a garden fairy, a rabbit and a Buddha also providing assistance. It shouldn't take to long to form a formidable team.

This what I can see from my vantage point on the West end of the patio. If memory serves me right, the rabbit is off to my left sitting on the steps from the sun room. The Buddha is outside of the patio, up the hill to my right. The garden fairy is just beyond the flower pot with the ferns you see in front of me. I just need a boost.

There, that does the trick. You can just see her head above the ferns. Yes, there at the base of the tree. I do believe I will be quite comfortable here. I can only hope that those who arranged for my arduous journey will come to visit me some day. Stay tuned for more of my adventures."

First of all, dude, not all gnomes are born equal. This Gnome is from Portland, Oregon - so he must be the best of the best Gnome.

An inside job, eh? And here I was ready to put The Old Bastards on trial. I guess I owe them an apology.
