#590 Polymyalgia Rhuematica

How's that for a mouthful. About 10 days ago I awoke with muscular pain in my neck and shoulders. (It occurred since my visit to the doctor back in late March.) I put up with it for about 10 days and then decided to check back with the doctor. I had gotten some new jokes to share with him, but that is another story.

When I told Maryann that I would be going to the doctor she told me that I might be over-reacting to the normal aspects of the "aging process", an opinion the doctor confirmed. However, the doc did give me more information. He suspected that I might be suffering from Polymyalgia Rhuematica. I had the doctor spell it for me and have done some on-line research. I suspect that information from the Mayo Clinic can be relied upon. The treatment for this ailment is interesting. I'm not sure if we will have to go down this road. After reading some of the cautions of some of the drugs I am reluctant to take that route.

I may be over-reacting here. It is a good idea to wait for the diagnosis before deciding what to do. In the meantime I will do some more research to be better prepared to talk to the doctor about it. Now to discover the blessing in this event.

The side effects suck. Yikes. I hope you find some relief soon.

Have a terrific day. :)

You want a easy and natural way to this?
1 part of apple cider vinegar, 1 part of honey (good honey), and 3 parts of room temperature water. Mix it. Drink it in the morning before breakfast. Do it everyday. If it's too sour for you, add more honey.

Another one... if you are near to an Asian grocery store, get *fresh* turmeric and cook it with chicken or whatever. Don't get the powdered one because that isn't good at all. The fresh one can leave a bright yellow stain all over though. Some people mind that. If you're worried about the stain, wear gloves and use a separate knife and cooking utensils :)

The pain is uncomfortable at times. Like, when I try to look over my shoulder when pulling out of the drive way.

As for your orders, Shannon, my response is a resounding, "YES MA'AM".

Dear Jack ~~ I am so sorry you have been unwell. It seems to be going around and around. I am feeling quite a lot better at last, but always have some back pain, much like yourself. I am glad you liked the joke about women civilizing men at times. Do hope you feel OK again.
Take care my friend. Regards, Merle.

Thank you all for your care, concern and healing energy. I feel better already.

Still no confirmed diagnosis from the doctor.

Oh well, life does go on and I will enjoy it.
