#553 An Historical Day.

It is a day that many older folks in this country thought would never come. Some wish it wouldn't, unfortunately. Most of us are ecstatic about it, and well we should be.

I have always thought the country would be much better off when we could accept each other as people. That day is coming closer.

Have you discovered that you are viewing people differently, particularly those who are obviously different from you? I know I have. The difference is much more positive I am pleased to say.

When I recall some of my experiences while in that Army. Our battalion was assigned to provide security for Mr. James Meredith while he attended the University of Mississippi. We were sent there several times during his attendance. We also provided security for the civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery. Those difficult times led to what we are experiencing this very day-a freer nation.

The man who will next take the helm of the ship of state is one who is intelligent and articulate enough for the job. His integrity and service are to be emulated.

I am even prouder to be an American at this momentous time.

Pleas join me in rejoicing in this event.

How can we serve? With integrity.

Please remember to do just that...

Serve with integrity, care about those you serve and share the love in your heart/soul.

I am rejoicing for the enormity of the events today.

The inaugural speech was spectacular. We have chosen the right man.

Indeed. I found myself glued to the TV since early morning and many times I was tearing up.

What a great day this is, and we can now say it, with much certainty, that we all look forward to a better tomorrow.

Sooooooooo proud to be an American. We finally have our country back.

And, yes, I also have been glued to television all day, with joyous tears in my eyes.

Thank you President Obama.

That yesterday was historic, is beyond question.

What it will bring, I remain cautious about. I dispute that "we've taken our country back", since the US Congress is largely unchanged. THAT is where major change is needed.

Bottom line: "We'll see..", said the zen master.

I wish us all well.

So glad for the blogging community and all the hard work they put into making sure the world had the true America back again.

Well done to you all! We here out side your borders, salute and congratulate you.

Thank you!
