she is home. According to the plan the US Airways flight was due in from Philadelphia at 0950 this AM. I checked the online widget to track flights and all systems were go. I timed my arrival at the airport so that we would take hardly any time to get the bag, get to the car and not have to pay too much to park. (Did I tell you that I'm the original Cheap Charlie?)
My arrival at the airport was just as planned. The plane should have been parking at the gate just as I walked in. I checked the arrival board for the gate only to discover that the flight would not be in until 1114. Well that's a fine how-do-you-do. Because of the perfect timing I didn't even bring a crossword puzzle book. What to do. OK, perhaps I can run down the road and to a little unnecessary shopping. Did you know that Office Max carries printer paper and flair pens? But, they do not have small business card holders for your pocket. That trip ate up about half an hour and $15. So much for saving parking fare.
While in the parking lot at OM I called the airline for information. The recorded message indicated the aircraft was late getting off due to mechanical difficulties from a previous flight. OK. That is not new any more. The message further indicated the flight would be in Kansas City at 1104. Liar, liar pants on fire.
At 1116 an aircraft came in and parked at the gate next to the one our flight was supposed to park. The arrival board did indicate that our flight had arrived and did not show any gate changes. One of the guys waiting with me came back to alert us that our flight was indeed at gate 6 rather than gate 7 as indicated on the arrival board.
Maryann sure look great getting off of the plane. It only took another 10-12 minutes to get her bag and we were on our way home. After lunch, unpacking, reading the morning paper, reconciling the checking account, and a few other odds and ends, Maryann is about ready to relax in the recliner with Hazel in her lap. After all, she has been awake since 0300 EST. She will sleep well tonight. And so will I.

I'm glad Mom got home safely. I know what it's like to have your best friend away from you for a long time. Give her a hug and a kiss from me!
Pleased to hear Maryann got home safely, even with Margaret's fate still not decided.
Ah, the joys of travel. Sleep well, you two.
Welcome home, Maryann!
Without fail when you have a set plan it always fails. Murphy's law.
Glad you have your Maryann back again. I can relate to how you feel about Margaret, dementia is such a destructive thing. It is much harder on the family members who have to watch their loved ones suffer than the person who is suffering the dementia. My heart goes out to you both.
Cheers and hugs Margaret
It's always a relief when someone, especially loved ones, return safely on a flight.
Prayers for Maryann's mom.
