Did you? Voting is a right and privelege I take seriously. Even more so than those groups who inundate our TV airwaves with their incessant negativity. Most of what they say has very little veracity. They take one small item out of context and try to make a big deal out of it. How many of us have mis-dialed a number? My guess is everyone who reads this and many others have done so. To make a charge that an elected official dialed a "porn" number on the people's dime is only half truth. If that person has done so regularly, then that is another story and we need to be informed of it and should act accordingly.
It is another matter when the elected officials endeavor to turn our country into an aristocracy. You might want to read some of David Brin's comments concerning this. That is where we should really get ourselves geared up to counter that effort. Perhaps the best way to do so is to elect officials to the Congress who will not just rubber stamp the "kings" demands.
Well, enough said on the soap box for the moment. Is this a great country, or what? Unfortuantely, lately it has been or what.#17

i am turning in our ballots on my way to work. we get ours in the mail about a month before they are due...i kind of like it this way so we can study the handbooks that go out too and really make informed choices. standing in those booths always made me feel rushed for some reason. i doubt i'll get a sticker though.
great post, jack!
keeping fingers crossed and praying for a change today.
I hope you have had success with your elections over there. As you probably know we have compulsory voting here in Oz. Doesn't prevent all the drivel prior to elections, I must say I get fed up with some of their petulant little boyish comments against each other. It is an insult to people's intelligence at times.
Cheers Margaret
