#772 Day One of Europe Trip

We left the US on October 5th for a three week tour of Europe. Our journey began with a flight from Newark to Munich.  We were supposed to fly to Philadelphia from Newark, but there were unforeseen delays and we were switched to another airline from Newark to Munich. Suffice it to say. The trip was uneventful after that.

On October 6th, we arrived in Munich ahead of our friends/neighbors George and Gale. Once they arrived we picked up our rental car and headed to Berchtesgaden. I took over 2300 photos during the time we were there. I will not show all of them here.

Along the way we saw some very beautiful scenery as you will soon discover.

Maypoles are popular in most towns. Here are some we saw on the way. (Click on photos to "enbiggen.)

Rottau was a small town we passed through. Since it was midday we stopped for a beer and sight-seeing.

Scenes of Rottau.

Scenes on the road to Berchtesgaden. The photos are shown in the order they were taken.

That's it for this day's photos.  There are more than these, but these show the country the best. The next set will show sights at the Konigsee.

Hubby was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam conflict. He said Germany was beautiful and these pictures say the very same thing.

Have a terrific day. :)

Hi Jack ~~ Great photos and it is nice to see them - Germany does look very nice. Thanks for your comments and I did survive the fire and hope to never have another. But will remember to put a cover over a pan if it does recur. Glad you enjoyed the jokes. Take care, Regards, Merle.
