#667 Christmas Saga Part 2

There are a couple of things I forgot to mention in the previous posting. On Thursdays the street sweeper comes by. All vehicles must be moved from the street during certain hours. This particular Thursday was the last day of 2009. We were up and about. It was time to feed Eli. All of a sudden our daughter makes some rather excited comment about how she forgot about moving the cars. We had rented a car and I had parked it at the curb the night before. Well, Maryann and Julianne immediately move the cars, but, alas, it is too late to prevent a parking citation. At least the vehicles were not towed away. We wrote the check for $60 and sent it off to the City of LA.

Maryann has always wanted to see the Rose Parade in person. Like many of you, it is a thrill to watch it on TV. Just think, we will be in the area at the right time. So, back in June or July, Maryann makes arrangements for seats and a parking place for us. You probably realize that the parade is held on January 1. We knew we would have to get up around 4 AM to get to Pasadena in time to find the parking place and our seats. They recommend that you get there around 6 AM to avoid road closings. We were all set. The alarm had been set and we went to bed early to be sure we would get some rest prior to such an early awakening. If you read the previous post, you know we never made it.

We never did get to see much of the parade on TV until we got to the motel the afternoon of January 1. I was so looking forward to getting some great photos with the new camera. I did get some great photos of Eli.

Wow, you get a fine for not moving your car for the street sweepers? Only in L.A. Got to generate money somehow I guess.

Too bad Maryanne was so sick and you missed the parade. That would have made a great post.

Eli is adorable. I can tell you don't care for her much though. Bwahahahahaha.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)
