Last evening we joined Ted and Priscilla to listen to the New Christy Minstrels. They are a group of folk singers who have been performing since 1961. Most of the original members are still with the group. Randy Sparks, the driving force of the group was born in Leavenworth, Kansas. His family moved to California when he was 10.
The program lasted for about two hours and was terrific. As you might imagine, most of the audience was of the age group who were listening to them when they were much younger. It was not that amazing to hear many of them sing along when asked to do so. Those words don't get lost over the years.
I have included a couple of songs that were performed last night, however, these performances were by the younger group. They sounded just as good last evening. There is something to be said for life's experiences making you better.
Enjoy the music! We did.

Always liked the New Christie Minstrels.
I haven't heard the NCM lately; but I have three of their greatest hit collections on CD from the 60s. "Today" is on one of my easy listening lists.
I used to like that group. Haven't heard about them for years. I wanted to go and see Simon and Garfunkel but couldn't get seats. They were only here for one night.
I have never heard of them, but I like the songs you posted. great harmonies.
Wow - I haven't heard this group's name in a long, long, time. I'm surprised we haven't had an updated group that has tried to update their act.
