#382 No Such Thing as a Problem - The Messiah's Handbook

There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands.

You seek problems because you need the gifts.

This is one of the sources for supporting the concept of life as choice. It is difficult for me to see it any other way. Not all choices seem to be good ones. We make choices all of the time. Most of the time those choices are made automatically, with little thought. We would not be able to do the most mundane things if they were not so made. However, not all of life's choices are so mundane. I
n times of complex situations choice is involved. At some level we make such choices because we need to learn something.

Some will want to challenge this with the idea that we make choices to learn something. On a conscious level we usually would not make some choices. At a sub-conscious level, I believe we do make choices so that we might learn some important lesson.

Professor Randy Pausch is an interesting example of problems bringing gifts. I watched this event when it first appeared on Oprah. I friend sent me the link because he thought I would appreciate the message. He was correct. Randy has a powerful message. A message of a man facing his on mortality. (Here is a link for his current medical condition.) The man has a marvelous outlook on life. I believe that his choice to make a video for his sons, and the subsequent outpouring of support have helped keep him going.

So, his problem was pancreatic cancer. His gift, an opportunity to share something very valuable with his sons, students and the rest of the world. Thank you Professor Pausch.

What gifts have come your way that stemmed from some problem? Think about it, and share it with others.
