#308 The morning after...

Halloween shows that we must have done the correct things. Our cars have been parked in the driveway since the painters came on Tuesday. Among the rooms be repainted is the garage. Anyway, I looked the cars over carefully this morning prior to moving them to the curb so the painters would have room to park. Not a scratch, egg, soaped window on either of them.

I did something different last night, I asked them how often the brushed their teeth daily. These kids are smart, most of them said twice, some said once and a few said three times. Only one said he didn't brush regularly. He didn't get any candy, although I did give his partner an extra piece with permission to share.

One little girl suggested that I was a dentist. I had to burst her bubble and say no. I just want them to keep their fantastic smiles.

One of the cutest "tricksters" was a little boy who couldn't have much more than 18 months. He was dressed like Godzilla. He offered me one of his pieces of candy. His dad said that the lad was doing that at every house. I did give the "puesdo-lecture" about tooth brushing to the young lad and his sister, indicating that dad and mom would be teaching them the fine art of the use of dental equipment, i.e., toothbrushes and tooth paste.

It was a fun evening. I also ask them what their trick is. That almost always throws them for a loop. I do get some "evil" responses, e.g., pour my drink over your head, etc. They never do, thank goodness.

Hope your Halloween was pleasant, too. I know that some of my readers don't celebrate this holiday. I bet they have some really fun celebrations we don't. Maybe we should swap stories about such celebrations. Or not.

Sounds like a fun evening. I get a kick out of passing out candy to the kids. My son went trick-or-treating for the first time this year - didn't quite know what to make of it.

What a fun evening you had!

We live way out in the country and don't have any trick-or-treaters. Only good thing about it, there's no left over candy to be *forced* to eat!
