#258 Words of Inspiration

Today was the third and last day for the annual Kansas Association of REALTORS®. At the membership luncheon today the guest speaker was Terry Bowden, the former college football coach. He gave a dynamic and inspirational presentation. There were four things he wanted us to think about. There were four questions to ask yourself:
  1. Do you want to be the best?
  2. Are you willing to pay the price?
  3. Will you work together as a team?
  4. Are you ready to take responsibility?
Many folks forget about being the best they can be. The tend to lack confidence in themselves. They forget or never think about how good they really are. They may even have been treated in such a way that prevents them from even asking this question.

Once you have decided to be the best, you must ask yourself if you are will to make the requisite changes and adapt to knew situations. This isn't always easy, but a necessary step.

Now that you have taken these steps that are focused on you, you must put yourself back into the situation of working with others. Being a willing and able team member will allow you to excel. This is especially important for leaders.

Finally, you must take responsibility for your actions. This seems to be a lot easier if you have carefully answered the previous questions.

Let me know what you think. Btw, the coach is a fantastic speaker and very, very funny.

1 Best what?
2 what is the price?
3 As a woman you have no choice about this throughout your life
4 Again as a woman and a mother, a wife and a love, there is no choice.

Are we talking about selling?
Then I guess..my answer is NO.

Thank you all for your comments.

Dear, Polly, you are the only one who can decide the what. The price is your willingness to do what it takes to achieve the goal.

I suspect we will continue to have a friendly disagreement about choice. But, isn't that our choice?

Love and peace to you all.
