#223 Georgie may sing soprano-Another Jane story
Georgie, a young neighbor, was bigger than Jane. He would accost her and pick on her at every opportunity. Once, when Jane was around 5 or 6, Georgie confronted her and pulled her hair. He would not quit until she reached out and grabbed his private parts. She twisted them until he released her hair.
Georgie went crying home to his mother. His mother, Agnes, was outraged. She called Jane’s home and talked to Jack. Her comments about Jane were not complimentary in the least. Jack replied, “Agnes, maybe Georgie has learned a lesson.” Jane doesn’t know what lesson Georgie learned, but he never bothered Jane again.
Jack referred to Georgie and his sibling as the house plants because of how they were pampered. Today, we might use the term "helicopter parent."

"helicopter parent"
... interesting!
A family tale.
....interesting
I think I get the story, but am not familiar with the term "helicopter parent". What does that mean exactly?
Maryann, my sweet wife, taught high school business classes for quite a few years. During that time she was privy to the behaviors of parents who had children who misbehaved in school. These "helicopter parents" would swoop in to rescue their children who were perfect and not capable of such mischief.
We had those parents bring their cases to the school board while I was a member. We managed to retrain them, or at least, make an example of them so that other parents decided it wasn't a good idea to come to the board.
Perhaps I need to make a posting about this phenomenon.
While I don't believe I've heard the the term, "Helicopter parents," I am familiar with the behavior, however.
Jack, thanks for the comments on my "Micro-TREK" post. Yes, Deanna Troi was gorgeous in that photo. I believe it is a real photo and "Q" has been photo-shopped in.
Also, I don't know if noticed (you didn't comment) part 4 of "Her Cups Runneth Over" was the post below (before) the Trek one.
I am well into part 5. LIke that story, "Perchance to Dream" this story is also taking a life of its own. It's more involved than what I envisioned when I began writing it.
Thanks for the explanation
