#174 SHIT HAPPENS..

that is what a friend told me recently. While driving to the doctor's office today, I got to thinking about that. Shit happens. Good shit or bad shit? Or both? These are questions I have pondered for some time. Perhaps you have too.

(The visit to the doctor was to get the results of Maryann's labs and CT scan last week. All is well. She will not have to have any more CT scans unless symptoms recur. HUZZAH!!! Now here is an example of some really good shit. tee hee.)

My friend and I have different views of the world. My friend tends to focus on the bad shit, not ignoring the good shit, but lets the bad shit affect her/him more.

Some really bad shit is war, pestilence, disease, hunger/starvation, murder, mayhem, little or no perceived/real opportunities, rape, drive-by shootings, gang activity, etc.

Some really good shit is finding a person with whom you can share your life, a meaningful occupation, children, high self-esteem, a reasonable income, good health, pets, parents, relatives who care, serving others, caring about those you serve, sharing the love in your heart, etc.

So what does all of this mean? Not much, unless you are interacting with others whose point of view is opposite of yours. Does that mean you cannot get along? That depends. There are one hell of a lot of intervening variables to take into consideration. Sometimes folks get so imbued with their view of the world that they can/will not even consider another view. It seems to me the more restricted their view of the world, the less likely they are to be open to another approach to viewing the world. As I write this I am aware that this applies to everyone, liberal and conservative alike. However, my bias is that liberals may be a bit more tolerant of differences.

Differences are one thing. Demands that others see the world through your eyes and ideals is unacceptable.

Well, this is all I want to say about this at the moment. Perhaps there will be more later. In the meantime, remember to....

Serve others, care about those you serve and share the love in your heart.

Or Not.

Hi Jack... that sounds a bit like the stealing of an airplane doesn't it?
I wondered about your comment where you said you were older than me... then I saw your profile!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you know Jack Schitt?

For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We find
ourselves at a loss when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt!'
Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an
intellectual way.

Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer
magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. They had
one son, Jack.

In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple
produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt,
and the twins Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt.

Against her parents' objections, Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a High
school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced.
Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and because her kids were living
with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe
Schitt Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a
rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six
children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout
childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony.
The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens
nuptials. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Horse.

Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently
returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt. Now when
someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt,' you can correct them.

Sincerely,
Crock O. Schitt
That's one hell of a long comment I know Jack, hope you got a chuckle.

well, there is the story of wally lipshitz. he went through gradeschool, elementary & middle school jes' being tortured because of his name...

he was beaten up.
lunch money stolen.
made fun of.
the butt of all jokes...
never had a girlfriend...

so lonely.

when he turned 18 and was ready to face the world, he also felt he'd finally CHANGE his name and get a brand new start!!!

after leaving the courthouse, papers in hand with his newly registered name - he saw an old schoolmate of his walking down the street...

he ran up to him, shaked his classmate's vigorously and proudly introduced himself with his NEW name, then jes' waited to see the reaction:

"hi, remember me? well, I've changed my name now... I'm Harold Lipshitz!"

- i'll be back under my desk waiting for applause...
