#161 As Seen Through The Windshield #10

We leave Portland for our trip to Santa Rosa. The scenery is quite beautiful.

Did I mention Oregon is big into logging?

Rock formations.

Leaving Oregon

Entering California

Mount Shasta from a Vista Point along the road.

Mount Shasta from the rest stop at Weed, CA.

Seagulls in Central California?

Yep, those are seagulls. They were cavorting around at the rest stop at Weed, CA. The more I think about it, the more I realize I might have been witnessing a mating ritual. The bird on the right was making some very, very loud calls. You will have to figure out which is male and which is female. giggle

Lake Shasta

Central California is quite dry. Something about a drought.

There will be more photos later.

I have been scrolling through your pics. Good stuff. That is a part of the country I have never seen, so through your windshield I'm seeing these things for the first time.

(One day I really must get farther west than Dubuque, Iowa!)

Hale, thanks for the comment.

You will enjoy the variety of countryside to be seen. There are parts of many states that are much flatter than Kansas is purported to be. Illinois, Nebraska, Wyoming, and California all have very flat places.
