In order to live free and happily,
you must sacrifice boredom
It is not always an easy sacrifice.
Is this what you want from your life? Freedom and happiness? If you are not getting it take a look at what you are doing that keeps it away.you must sacrifice boredom
It is not always an easy sacrifice.
When any of my daughters used to complain about being bored I would usually tell her that boredom was OK. From that place they would be able to find alternative choices that would bring them whatever they wished. I did not then, nor do I now, see my job as a person who is responsible for chasing away boredom. I am glad to be of some service to that end, but I cannot make the change for another.
I wonder what it means "It is not always an easy sacrifice"? Could it be that some folks have gotten so used to the relative "safety" of boredom that they will settle for that believing that they are free and happy? I wonder. I don't think so.
Right now I have a cat, Hazel, on my lap. Since Maryann isn't here to provide the requisite lap, I am the go to guy. Hazel will stay here, getting an occasional petting between thoughts and typing. After a while she will jump down and find another spot to satisfy her needs. Is she free? Yes. Is she happy? I can only believe that the strength of her purring is an indicator of happy contentment.
Cats probably are never bored. They can be demanding, but are never bored.
Sacrificing boredom may mean that one should find ways to serve and care about others in their lives. It is a matter of choice and consequence.
If you are bored, your choices are relatively simple learn to love the state of boredom or find something meaningful to fill the time.
Just some idle thoughts.

"a matter of choice and consequence"
good food for thought.
It used to drive us batty, "it's okay to be bored" or "nothing wrong with being bored."
Now, I long to be bored in my adult life.
My Mom used to give me chores if I said I was bored. If I didn't want to do chores I learned to find things to keep me busy, or not tell her I was bored. I liked being bored at times.
