I may have mentioned this in a previous posting, but it deserves to be repeated. For those of you who enjoy excellent writing you will be taken in immediately by this.
It is the story of a young man named Mark. He is from Northern California and he made a decision to get a ride home one evening from a friend who had been drinking. For the rest of the story begin at this site.
I know Darlene will appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I visit her site daily and am quite taken with the courage her family shows.

That is such a sad tale Jack, one doesn't realize how well off one is until you read something like this.
jack - i'm so glad you followed my original post and found darlene, and consequently have become one of her many friends.
thank you.
they will need much more lurvin' and support over the next year fer sure, but BOY do they have a lot to be thankful for.
;)
Peter, I agree. Would you be kind enough to tell others about this site.
In her first posting on 1/18 she asked for folks to tell young people about Mark's situation as an example of what can happen when riding with a drunk driver. Requests such as mine to you is another way to get the story around the world.
Thank you.
bronxbt, you are welcome. I check her blog every day and on most days I leave a comment. We have also emailed a couple of times. Thanks for the heads up.
A very sad story indeed. These things are very difficult for me to read and talk about. I witnessed two friends, both drunk, on a motorcycle lose control and veer into the path of an 18-wheeler. What was left of them of them was literally shoveled off the road.
....It has had a lasting effect - probably an emotional scar - that usually finds me avoiding these types of stories.
I wish the family the best and will pray for them, but I couldn't lave a comment there. Sorry.
