#55 A Tern for the better

I received an email recently that was in response to the daffodil posting. I want to thank the email author for taking the time to write. This person was appreciative of the posting. She has been spending much time in dealing with one bulb at a time. The idea that there might be an entire field of flowers had escaped her temporarily.

I know the feeling well. We all tend to get caught up in the daily, necessary mundane tasks that we oft forget the beauty that surrounds us. Some might ask, and rightfully so, "How in the hell can I concentrate on the beauty, when my world is crashing down on me?" There are times when we can only attend to the present situation and deal with it until it becomes more tenable. For inspiration on how to deal with difficult times you might want to visit b/sistersshoes for an insight into real courage in the face of adversity.

Even in these times there might be a need to maintain some equilibrium by searching for the beauty. Walking the path is just such an example of finding beauty in the pain.

The point I am trying to get to is one of balance. As we make choices and the consequences are not always what we thought they would be, what solace can we take in the small things around us? Are 50,000 daffodils small? Are sunsets small? Is our love for someone small? Is serving others small? Is caring about others small? Is sharing the love in our hearts small? Is heroism small? Is wanting peace small? Is rambling on like this small? The answer to the last question is a resounding yes, but as for the rest, I leave those answers up to you who took the time to get this far.

May peace and love be with you. And take time to smell the roses, the coffee, and that tantalizing aroma coming from the bakery.

Even if doing something for someone else seems like a small thing to you, it very well could be a big thing for that person.

Share the love in your heart.

Live fully....
