#11 We're back from LA

Last Thursday we flew to LA to celebrate the wedding of our oldest daughter, Julianne to David. Actually they had an announced elopment at the end of September. The reception was held this past weekend.

We stayed at the Inn at Venice Beach. Only three long blocks to the beach.

Friday night was the dinner for the
family. David's family is a wonderful group of folks. His brothers have delightful children. It was a great dinner at an Italian restaurant in Santa Monica.

On Saturday evening they held their reception for a couple hundred of their closest friends and family at the Culver City Center. The food and wine were outstanding and the entertainment was fantastic. I had never heard of Hurricane, but he has an electric personality and a great performer.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of him from the front. He moved around very quickly. He managed to wow the ladies by singing bawdy songs to them while stand partially on their table. Quite a show. We all loved it.

We got back Monday evening to some really cold weather. It was in the 80's in LA and somewhere in the 30's at KCI.

Welcome back. I'm glad you had a good time.

A 50 degree temperature change sure wasn't a nice return home though.

Looks like you had a wonderful time.

Yep, the weather has turned poopie here, also. But it is November in Michigan, the two being a deadly combination.

btw, missed your *smiling face* amongst the blogsphere. :+)

jack - would love to hear from you regarding the brouhaha about kerry's recent comments. i heard them - and it sounded to me like he was insulting bush, not the troops. but i'd like to know what you think.

Thank you all for your kind comments. We had a great time. I have more photos, but it might not be propitious to post them without the approval of the subject.

NO, there are no salacious photos. However, Julianne and David do a fantastic job on the dance floor. Man are they a hot couple.

bird, check out posting #12 for a response to your question re: Kerry's remarks.
