the day is almost upon us. We are about to take a long weekend trip to the West Coast for an extended-family get together.
As I might have mentioned at an earlier time in another blog, our oldest daughter got married. There's was an announced elopement. We gave our blessing. They are a great couple.
This weekend, on Saturday evening, a full month after the wedding, there will be a reception with a couple hundred of their closest friends and family.
Maryann and I are pleased that Julianne and David have found each other. All three of my daughters have found men who are just right for them. I am proud of them for living their lives so fully.
We will also get a chance to meet David's family for the first time. Emails and phone calls are great, but the hand shakes, hugs, sharing of a nice wine and fondly told tales must be done in person. Friday night will be the time for this.
I am planning to take a few photos. Some of them will find their way to this site in future postings.
We are doing the last minute things prior to the trip. You know trips to the barber shop for me and the hair salon for Maryann. The suitcases are packed. Well, there will be a few more things to tuck in in the morning. I am sure that I will take after our youngest daughter and not get much sleep tonight. I can hardly wait to see them in LA.
So until the next posting, ttfn.

I am sure you will have a wonderful time catching up with the family/meeting the new inlaws Thanks for visit to my site, it was moving to read a Banjo Patterson love poem, (almost in the style of Robert Browning, I thought.)
Cheers Margaret
I am anxiously awaiting our departure on Friday. I will pack tonight because tomorrow evening will be spent schlepping the dog to my yogi's house for camp goodtimes. I am ready to go home so I can get started with everything I still must do.
an aside: I really am not digging the beta of the sites I read...the word verification doesn't always show up, making commenting a pain in the ass...sorry, had to vent. :)
Karen and Shannon, I will sleep tonight, I will sleep tonight, I will sleep tonight. lol
Margaret, I am looking forward to the visit.
Shannon, I know what you mean about the word verification. I get that with other blogs that are not beta. I think it even happens with your blog on occasion. I have no idea why it works that way.
