#557 "I won't tell"

Friday morning the Old Bastard's met as usual. Thirty-six of us showed up on a cold January morning to drink coffee, eat cookies and tell lies, jokes and war stories. It is a fun time even though there are some rather conservative views among a good number of my friends. But, that is another story.

Don, a former colleague, curmudgeon and all-around good guy had to tell a joke while he could still remember it. It was too funny to keep to myself. Perhaps you have heard it.

There were five people standing on a street corner when an automobile raced up and came to a screeching top in front of them. An armed man jumped out of the passenger's side, pointed a rather large caliber handgun at one of the men and shot him dead. The shooter turned to the first observer and demanded to know if he would tell the cops. The man said he would have to do that. Whereupon he was shot. Then the shooter asked the next witness if he would tell the cops. This person was also a man of principles and indicated that he would have to do just that because it was his civic duty. Bang, bang and there is another dead body. The shooter then turned to the next person and asked the same question about telling. This person replied, not on your life, but I can't say the same for my husband, as she pointed to the remaining witness standing next to her.

Oh, well, you had to be there to hear Don tell it.

Hope your weekend was a good one.

Hahaha...I like that joke, Jack. Sounds like something an Aussie would do...heheh.

Old Bastards, eh? Sounds interesting...all vets are you? If so, yes, I imagine you would have a lot to chew over conservative or not, curmudgeonly or not, it takes all kinds. Glad you had a good time.

The only way I'm still alive today is, when my ex-fiancee pointed me out, I faked a heart attack ;)

A group who can call itself the Old Bastard's must be a fun group.

It's cold here too, but I heard that another warm up is on the way.
